This is all somewhat moot if you ask me. The UNFCCC & Paris Agreement decided to avoid catastrophic climate damages, not weigh up costs & benefits.

It is implicitly determined that the physical damages alone justify deep mitigation, irrespective of cost (think of an island & sea level rise).

For fem år siden fikk oljebransjen omfattende skattesubsidier, mot at utslippene i 2030 skulle halveres
Nå som subsidiene er "fortært", innrømmer bransjen at de ikke oppfyller sin del av avtalen

CO2-fangstkapasiteten CCS 51 MtCO2 per år - mer enn samlede norske utslipp. Riktignok utgjør mesteparten CO2-håndtering av gass fra felter. Allikevel, man ser tegn til flere prosjekter a la Longship globalt som håndterer hard-to-abate sektorer #Fornybar
