Rosen flipped late from no to yes.
Hey Nevada!
There will be another 60 vote Friday* on the garbage shutdown deal. If we can convince just one Senator from the 52 republicans and 8 Dems that voted yes to flip, we could still stop this. Please jump on the phone today, call them, and share this widely.

*If all goes by the regular schedule

Our polite, and sane, neighbors to the north have a budgeting process that works!
Did you know that in Canada, if a budget doesn’t pass the government doesn’t shut down?

Federal workers aren’t furloughed.

Funding for social services doesn’t dry up.

Failure to pass a budget triggers an election.

It puts the politicians jobs on the line.

They get the budget passed.

The loss of SNAP benefits means that people are choosing between feeding themselves or feeding their pets.

Absolutely no one should have to make that choice. Let’s flood food banks & shelters with pet food & connect with corporations willing to step up—looking at Chewy

If you redefine Christian as christian nationalist, it’ll make more sense.
They take the hymn “Onward Christian soldiers” literally.

The Satanic Temple has launched a nationwide food drive (called the Devil's Pantry) to help those affected by the loss of SNAP benefits and rising good costs.
Okay ... so now we live in a world where Satanists are more Christ-like than Christians?!
Someone tell me how we ended up in Bizarro World!!

“Using healthcare and food as leverage should be grounds for removal from office. “ Kelly

I would go one step further: criminal charges and jail time.
Healthcare is a basic human right.

Food is basic human right.

Education, housing, clean air & water are human rights.

Using healthcare and food as leverage should be grounds for removal from office.

SNAP, Medicaid and the ACA are worth fighting for.

People will die without them.

From the article:
“A U.S. government document on self-deportation notes that: ‘If ICE officials arrest you, there’s no going back — you may not have time to get your affairs in order, gather your belongings, or even say goodbye to the people you care about.’”
Unconscionable!
An off duty ICE officer spotted Henry Cortez’s Canadian passport in his wallet at a pet store.

He bullied him into self deporting

Cortez was there to get supplies for his cat, Smokie, who he was forced to leave behind.

He’s now fighting to find a way to be reunited with his cat:
'You're from Canada, eh?': Meeting with 'off-duty ICE officer' at a pet store leads to Toronto man's self-deportation
Henry Cortez had let his work visa expire, but carried Canadian passport with him in Las Vegas. When a stranger saw it, it spelled trouble.

The ppl w/disabilities, ppl w/chronic illnesses & cancer, seniors already isolated, the 16M hh's w/children. WE REFUSE TO BE A NUMBER. WE ARE PEOPLE. WE DESERVE DIGNITY.

Not only is Tom Hanks protecting his own health, by masking up he’s protecting everyone else on public transit.

Many people taking the subway don’t have paid time off.

They don’t have the good healthcare someone like Hanks can afford.

Masking is community care.
When asked by Stephen Colbert why he was wearing a mask in public, Tom Hanks said..

“I’ve had Covid enough in my life I don’t need to do that again. I’m wearing this for health reasons”

More celebrities need to speak out like this.
