Well so far 2026 seems to be going just like 2025 in the work sphere.

Ok two things
1) Come on team let’s label stuff correctly even when it’s obvious
2) Why “despair”? Like… does sadness sell now?

During the course of normal conversation, I was telling kiddo in extremely vague terms about @rtgame.bsky.social and when pressed for details, the first kid-friendly thing I could think of to explain was the poop volcano.

Sooo…oops, now she knows about the poop volcano. And finds it HILARIOUS.

We've been focused on childhood vaccination lately due to RFK Jr.'s crusade against them, but vaccines given in adulthood are crucial too. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/03/h...

Today is a self care day. I have a mild cold and a bitch of a period so I’m going to eat soup and drink water and lie in bed watching videos all day.

Highly recommend if you feel this is also something you need.

This was probably meant to be a late-night post: I spent eight months working on a stunt blog about a $200 sandwich. Or, no, I did an end-of-year post about my mental health and the federal funding crisis. I'm not sure which. Maybe you can figure it out. www.carlsonlab.bio/thoughts/epi...

Invocation to Sandwich: April 22, 2025 The madness creeps in for the first time as a Master’s student in my lab is telling me about her job hunt. Did you know that Epic – yes, that Epic, the electron...

This is a remarkable amount of work to collect all these data points into one place.

(Also, always fun to see the result from the press inquiries I get 😁)
EXCLUSIVE: @laurenweberhp.bsky.social & I have spent the last year collecting school+county-level vaccination data from across the US and found that only about 28% of counties now have herd immunity for kindergartners from measles—that leaves about 5.2mn kids unprotected.

U.S. vaccination rates are plunging. Look up where your school stands.
Take a look to see what the kindergarten measles vaccination rates are in your area.

There is not a facepalm big enough for RFK Jr claiming the 1918 flu was a lab leak. We didnt even know the flu virus existed in 1918. It was not in a lab! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Good thread tho
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stated that the 1918 flu pandemic was caused by a lab virus from vaccine research, a defective influenza vaccine. Let’s analyze what a lie this is. First, in 1918, 107 years ago, virology was in its infancy

Have you ever wanted a primer on revolution? And how the force behind a popular revolution ends up just doing the same thing as the establishment before?

And how that plays into contemporary media including MTG’s Aether Revolt and Aetherdrift sets?

And being Marxist?

this is really reckless, unethical, and irresponsible behavior, especially as we approach the peak of flu season. it’s also not the first time he’s done this — he’s fully aware what he’s doing is not okay because we have already explained that to him. this guy shouldn’t be repping public health
If there is a tamiflu shortage this year I blame twitter's #1 catastrophist EFD for advising people to stockpile prescription antivirals.

I was doing some light reading on custodial IRAs (listen I watched the Simpsons episode where Homer flubs his taxes and I'm a GIANT TAX NERD) and I came across the line "Even babies can contribute to a Roth IRA" and now I'm sitting here jealous of all this babies with earned income.

My boss is out today, which puts me in charge.

While I was on my only call of the day, multitasking with making a cinnamon star bread, I realized that a) no one is working and b) I HAVE THE POWER

So I wrote to all the team leads and told them to cut out early.
