they want to stamp out the entire profession of public health for a generation. same day they announce they’re closing the CDC museum
🚨Dept. of Education proposes to exclude public health degrees from the “professional degree” category.

That means new public health experts could lose access to key higher ed resources, like loan limits & reimbursement.

A bold strategy to let infectious diseases win! 🦠

Town Meeting went amazing, a few more people know who I am, going to not be able to sleep WOO

I drank a Coke Zero to get ready for the four-hour municipal legislative fun house that is Town Meeting but all that did was kick up my anxiety.

Probably because I registered to speak on keeping some open space open, and I don't want to sound dumb before I run for office.

I’m still a bit in disbelief that “has a fall” is the headline.

“Oh no, a fall?” I thought before reading one sentence further to learn the fall wasn’t due to a trip or dehydration but because HIS HEART TURNED INTO AN UNCOORDINATED BAG OF WORMS.
John Fetterman was transported to a hospital this morning after falling and hitting his face.

Docs discovered he'd had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up, a form of sudden cardiac arrest. His office says he's doing well and “receiving routine observation." www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

What an amazing essay from the former chair of Africana Studies at Bowdoin. I'll share a few sections in the reply but seriously, read the whole thing. It's all insightful and beautifully written.

i say thank you to the bus driver when i get on and yell thank you when i get off every day i ride the bus, and i take two buses to and from work, being nice and friendly costs you nothing and should be your default expectation for yourself because it improves your day and everyone else’s day
Being nice to people is just fun. Asked young server at taco place how her day was going (fine but tired) and she asked me back. I said I managed to finish my to-do list and she unexpectedly gave me a high five! Treating people like people is always rewarding.

And actually, on that note - apparently a lot of people have been getting cheap canned goods from Amazon.

Inevitably, they are dented. Like, DENTED. One can this week had a dent that took up one whole side and went halfway through the can.

Don’t use Amazon for this.
At my food pantry shift this week, a small girl about 6 or 7 came by with her dad.

They came just to drop off a bag of food that she helped collect, and they were invited in to see the volunteers sorting.

We all thanked her profusely - she looked super happy and her dad asked how to volunteer.
Friends, if you have the means to donate to a local food pantry financially via online giving, I highly encourage you to do that. But I don’t want to discount the importance of actually showing up at the pantry, even if it is just to drop off food. (1/5)

All day conference is going great but my tablecloth has a positive halo sign. 😂

(The EMT reactions still run strong. I’m also sitting next to another former EMT, I pointed this out, he told me the tablecloth really should get to an ER 🤣)

I’ve started trying to make my way through The Pitt again, because it’s emotionally draining and I was not expecting COVID trauma when I started it on a plane.

I’m up to E5, and poor Whitaker. As soon as that tonsillectomy patient came in I knew how he was going to lose those scrubs.

Apparently, Dr. Martin Kulldorff doesn't understand how school vaccines mandates work.

ACIP does not have a role in them and did not in the past, though in the days of expert, evidence-based ACIP, some states looked to its recommendations to see what to require.
