Within seconds of creating a second account, after my first one was shut down just two days after it was created, my account was closed again. This happened despite the fact that I hadn’t posted anything or followed anyone. I was only in the process of adding a profile photo, yet I received an email claiming that my account was “spam” and that it was “causing harm.” What kind of logic is this? The painful truth is that the account was shut down the moment it became clear it was created from inside Gaza. It seems we are no longer allowed to write or speak about what is happening to us here. They are not afraid of content itself, but of our voices and the reality we carry with us. Millions are spent to silence these voices and to erase the truth. I am exhausted by this platform and by how our photos and videos, which document real suffering, are treated as “violations of community standards,” as if pain itself has become a crime. What is happening is not simple moderation or policy enforcement. It is an attempt to erase our existence and bury the truth. And honestly, this is shameful and unbearably painful. I want to take a moment to talk about the moment indie animation is having right now. I have been a part time indie creator my entire career, and am now the happiest I've ever been as an artist doing it full time. I don't need to get into all the problems with our industry right now and why so many artists are going into this space. Creators like Dana Terrace and now Matt Braly are able to bring 'star power' to attract funding the likes of which a lot of us can only dream of. And herein lies the paradox of independently created series. It relies on platforms like Kickstarter, social media, and Patreon to generate enough money to pay artists VERY LITTLE to make a couple people's dreams a reality. Indie runs very close to exploiting young artist's talents and passions in what is an incredible punk movement in our industry. I want us to hold space for the sacrifices young artists are making for the sake of dreams, entertainment, art, and passion. The reason indie is having a moment right now is because a wave of artists are choosing hope. They're choosing the harder path because they have faith in the power of storytelling, and understand that if they want to participate they have to take that power back into their own hands. And oh boy is now more a time to do that than ever! They're trippling down on learning how to operate a business, manage productions, explore unorthodox productin pipelines, and navigate a tumultuous industry that hasn't seen this much disruption in almost a century. Now, I want you to keep holding space for these people because here's the thing. The industry is watching. Its seeing that people are able to compete with streaming beheamoths for a fraction of the money. And they are absolutely going to exploit this. Whatever we do, we cannot let them do this. We cannot let tech companies and streaming giants swoop in and co-opt the sacrifices of our young artists, nor can we allow them to devalue the labor of animation, either. We must continue to organize and fight for a future where we can all create AND support ourselves financially. This isn't an either or, this is a yes and situation. So for every person saying "indie is the future" - its on you to make that a reality. If you want to know how, shoot me a DM.

The censorship that started with "porn" is coming for everything.
(1) Any picture, photograph, drawing, sculpture, motion picture film, video game, computer software game, or similar visual representation or image of a person or portion of the human body, that depicts nudity, sexual conduct, excess violence, or sado-masochistic abuse, and that is harmful to minors; or (2) Any book, pamphlet, magazine, printed matter, however reproduced, or sound recording, which contains any matter enumerated in subdivision (a)(1), or that contains explicit and detailed verbal descriptions or narrative accounts of sexual excitement, sexual conduct, excess violence, or sadomasochistic abuse, and that is harmful to minors.
