Realizing that it’s very easy to assess my mental state based on what Instagram stories I shared today.

1. Calls to action, protests, mutual aid opportunities = optimism, motivation

2. Info dump on exec orders and legislation = fear and anger spiral

3.Animal videos = full-on anxiety dissociation

As I’m sure everyone expected, my brain is officially unremarkable. But hey, at least it’s there. Party on, brain. 🥁

Just got my new sweatshirt from @skysanctuaryrescue.bsky.social to help raise money for the good folks there who rescue and rehabilitate animals. Looks like they are new to Bluesky, but you can follow them on IG at skysanctuaryrescue too. 💜

Here’s a tip if you’re just getting the hang of Bluesky like I am. If you want to occasionally filter out news or other accounts you see all the time, add Quiet Posters to your feed.

…Although if you’re seeing MY posts, you probably already have it enabled.

It’s not about perfection.

It’s death by billions of paper cuts to the billionaires.

Find what you can change. Change that. Sustain as long as you safely can. You’ll often find as you adapt, you can change even more.

Target & Insta were easy for me. Amazon is harder so I cut a bit at a time.

My heart is full of gratitude and awe at the kindness of strangers. My dog Jasper passed away in October, and I posted a photo of him on Reddit the other day. UNPROMPTED, a kind stranger DREW HIM for me. I love this gift so much. I’ll comment soon to credit the artist once I have their info.

This thread contains my favorite interaction on Bluesky so far.

Maybe y’all would have expected me to say weird stuff like this, or maybe y’all’d’n’t’ve.
Glad to come through for our Bluesky followers! We're never gonna let you down or desert you 😎

This is really just me musing rather than saying anything important, but my dad just sent me a video of a lovely rendition of the U.S. National Anthem sung by a choir. I used to sing the anthem a lot at events back at my previous job, plus I’m now in a choir, so that’s why he thought of me. (1/?)

This post and subsequent thread offers a powerful and wise perspective on not letting grief and uncertainty overwhelm you.
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Some great tips in this post! Not everyone has the ability or capacity to protest, write in, or show up to council meetings. There are still ways you can help. Thank you @soundoftheforest.bsky.social and others in the thread for sharing these.
I have never been able to go to a protest with my disabilities. I have to wait for the autism clinic to help me call or email my representatives. Most local meetings aren’t accessible for me to attend. But that doesn’t mean I can’t help make a difference.

There’s been a lot of conversation this week about a declassified CIA publication titled “Simple Sabotage Field Manual” (found here www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/26184...) designed to derail fascism.

But like, does anyone else feel personally attacked? I do lots of this by accident.
