Wdym some people think humans aren’t animals????
love telling the "humans can't be animals because we have consciousness" crowd that I also don't believe in consciousness

like it's kind of an oversimplification of my actual beliefs, but it makes them 404 so bad I LOVE it

Absolutely surreal aurora display seen from Roseville, MN. Turns out the universe is still awesome and full of wonder.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.

Living a moral life in an age of bullies requires collective action; it cannot be done alone. Each of us must organize and participate in a vast network of moral resistance. From this solidarity we will grow stronger. This is what our current moment requires.

This time of the year I can’t resist the voices of my ancestors saying, “Eat all the fruit and vegetables you can! Pickle and preserve the rest! ALL OF IT!!”

Paramount+ sub = $60 a year

Shift that $ to your @pbs.org station instead and you’ll do two good things at the same time. Do it.

Currently watching steampunk D&D while eating a phenomenal “what’s been in the freezer too long?” monstrosity of a meal, drinking a THC seltzer, while my dog naps next to me. My younger self didn’t even know she could dream of this.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

I just got to the episode of Andor where a peaceful city is occupied by military forces and citizens are coaxed into a confrontation where heavily armored troops attack a legally gathered crowd and then the media is like “violent protestors” and I just wish this show was applicable to real life

No Kings in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Rally moved indoors to a packed church as we mourned the shootings this morning. Joining in person with neighbors feels more important than ever.

If you've been trying to put words to why all the "big tent" talk about "winning the middle" to defeat fascism that's coming from allegedly moderate alleged pragmatists seems like such wrong-minded nonsense, well I wrote all about that.

Winning the Middle
What makes for a purity test? What makes for a big tent? Unpacking the apparently pragmatic demand that we Speak Low about fascists to beat fascism.
