Examples of how dark this album is

The Scarecrow - Ritual sacrifice of newborn child

Fine Horseman - Narrator's family dead.

Winifer Odd - Run over.

Danny Rose - Died in stolen car.

Child Among The Weeds - The child is dead.

Never The Same - Rosemary is in a shallow grave, but possibly alive.
I recommended this to a friend today. Listening to it now. Is this the most sinister album ever made? It makes Slayer sound like Boyzone. 10/10.

Bought OTD in 1972: cleaned up slightly to be more commercial, this has done good songs - Low Yo Yo Stuff, Sun Zoom Spark but one track towers above everything else. Big Eyed Beans From Venus 💥💥💥. Distant cousins, there’s a limited supply

01. My book of the year. And while it could be said I am following the crowd here, in fact it is following me. Raved about it in the summer on Backlisted and reviewed it on publication. Bonnier, sensing it will never publish another book as good, pulled the plug on Nine Eight shortly thereafter.

Just watched the Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads 1974 Christmas Special. It's my equivalent of midnight mass. I honestly don't think the banality, lo-fi competiveness and unspoken love of male conversation has ever been better captured. Sublime writing.

Spiritualist jazz meets Indian classical music from the streets of New York. Really gorgeous music that just wraps itself around your heart.

I hate the guts of Shakin' Stevens,
For what he has done,
The massacre of 'Blue Christmas',
On him I'd like to land one on.
