The way I know the president isn’t running things is because “big“ and “beautiful“ are two of the only adjectives he has access to in his limited vocabulary, which inserts as placeholders when he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Ergo “Big Beautiful Bill” = I have no idea what’s in this.

In the last two months Tesla has lost a quarter of its value and Musk is down $100b, and there’s millions of people gullible and well-trained enough to think he’s busting open the federal piggy bank because he just cares so much about efficient operations.

I think the way to understand what Musk is doing at the treasury is “LOOTING.” Musk doesn’t gaf about government efficiency, his companies have been floated by government all along, and all his wealth is speculative. 1/2

Something I think people should consider: if you’re going to rationalize what this regime is doing with “maybe we do need to revisit DEI/Civil Rights/immigration/gender” etc, you’re not demonstrating that they’re not fascists. You’re demonstrating the extent to which you’re willing to go along.

I can never understand this thing where calling Trump a racist is supposed to be akin to calling him a werewolf or a hobgoblin or something. It’s not some rare mythical thing, it’s most common thing in the world. It’s the most normal thing for a 78 year old white guy from Queens to be.
