There's a couple of good movies on this list....
The run that Rob Reiner went on between 1984 and 1992 is one of the most amazing hot streaks any director has ever had. Legendary stuff

Ahmed Al Ahmed is a fucking legend.

I would like to think I would act like this in such a crisis. I cannot say I would... you just don't know until you're faced with it.

And the discussion starts (I'm honestly surprised its taken this long): www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

I dont see how the current government can do anything but raise this tax to fund their policies. They'll say its not a new tax whilst criticising the opposition on a CGT. Hate that hypocrisy.
GST used to be 10%, is it going to rise again?
This December marks 40 years since the law changed to allow GST to be introduced. But are there better ways for the government to collect tax?

There it is ladies and gentlemen... they want to bring in US style holiday entitlements: www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3609...

On the plus side, we'll see them in Parliament more and not get holidays over the Christmas period too. Right guys... right?

Reckonomics is exactly the word to describe how our government runs. And many of their supporters think.
One of the obvious impacts of Govt not investing into a downturn is tanking taxes (= higher deficits). Countless examples across the world, but sadly most of our reckonomics commentariat are small island caveman monetarists, so, prices going up? Ug. Throw kiwis on the dole, ug, crash economy. [🧵1/n]

On the plus side; hopefully it'll mean we can get some more competition for the consumers.
