Mainer, from away. Database nerd by day, working in weed tech. Corgi fan, swimmer, quilter. I want to see pictures of your pets, your crafts, your houseplants. Here for the unhinged skeets.
I don’t have to pretend to be unhinged, I simply need to speak upon the topic in which I am naturally unhinged

Today I finally realized that when people come to the door selling religion or scams, I can simply start talking at them about databases and evangelizing query tuning, while pretending their responses make sense.

I do not believe in Angels, and against increasingly mounting evidence, I still do not believe in the AntiChrist
Jay Bhattacharya says if lots of people believe something, the NIH has a duty to study it

In this 2023 national US survey, 69% of Americans believed in angels, 56% in the devil, & 34% in astrology (www.pbs.org/newshour/nat...)

Coming soon: NIH funded studies on angels, the devil, & astrology 🤯

I have an idea of what I'd do in a 90 minute session around this--- will be building the content over the next six months or so. Also hoping to move to the midwest and be closer to an airport this year, so St Louis might be a short trip before too long!

BONUS RULING: Judge Thomas Johnston, a George W. Bush appoiintee in West Virginia, used a recent ruling to warn of the dangers of defying due process for immigrants because of what it could also mean for Americans. It's worth a read.

This is the first year I’ve had any interest at all in the Super Bowl and I’m in an airport — but admittedly I just wanna see the Green Day set and see what they have to say about ICE in it

It’s predicted to feel like -7F when I arrive at the airport — and I left my coat in the car. Gonna be a good time to practice sprinting with a suitcase I guess

❤️ I love that you take all this stuff on. And I know you’ll be super careful and safe but as a paranoid person I must wish that wind and gravity be always in your favor.

My primary fitness takeaway from this cruise is that I should hire a spry fast walking person in their 70s to walk in front of me, just ahead of my max pace on a track, because there ain’t nothing more motivating than having your ass whooped by someone 20 years older than you.
