#kidlitartpostcard Oh, it's a postcard day as well? I made this for the GN-pitch event (kidlitgn.com) but the more tags the merrier.

I'm for hire to work on comics with/for you! On top of illustrating, my lettering and print prep skills make me a one woman shop for bringing a comic script to life.

Even in the most horrid ”gatekept” conditions people have always (drawn, written, made music…=) made art.

’The *meaning* comes from that pursuit’ is right — ART IS A MEANS OF SURVIVAL
I dream of having enough stability in our culture that anyone who wants to can pursue the arts, but the meaning comes from that pursuit, from translating human experiences through skills acquired over time. Art is labor, but it isn't just some commodity that can be pulped and reconstituted.

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

Today my brain said to me ’You can’t spend precious time on homework when you don’t have a tabletop/cardgame illustration portfolio yet!’
I said ’Are you able to work on a gaming portfolio today instead?!’
’Noooo… I just can’t do homework when that portfolio doesn’t exist yet’

That’s today spent

True, I didn't want Animate to be discontinued, but the one day change of direction just shows Adobe doesn't plan at all what they do and announce
Hey, @adobe.com, this is a deeply strange way to respond.

We didn't midunderstand you.

You very clearly changed your policy on Adobe Animate in response to backlash.

Sometimes I get a really good quote in.

“Pointing out that AI is prone to giving ICE bad information is missing the entire point of ICE,” EFF’s @evacide told @RollingStone. “They don’t care if the information they have is good.”

ICE's Use of AI Will Lead to Big Mistakes. Maybe That's the Point

I AM FURIOUS.

Adobe Animate remains an industry standard for TV animation. Star Trek: Lower Decks was made in Animate. Haunted Hotel was made in Animate. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was made in Animate.

And because you can't buy a permanent licence anymore, it'll just be gone.

The Adooby Animate (Flash) news is really something, non-animators already farting 'just switch to a different software' or 'you knew it was a goner, you had time to retrain' -- meanwhile Titmouse careers page:

Wear a diaper on duty if you have to, we all do what we gotta do, what’s so crazy-making is having been asked to entertain the idea that people like Zelenskyy might not be dressing/acting respectfully enough around him while Trump’s *COKED: UP, DIAPER: FULL* in public

In British shows you’re constantly encountering staggering performances from actors who either have zero other credits or when you go through their filmography it’s all tiny four-line parts even though they run circles around every last one of those roles

’Girl Taken’ should be well-trod and unnecessary, [kind of like posting my tv opinions rn…] but it’s doing something different. It made me feel disgusted with myself.
Also, Tallulah Evans is amazing. ’I-was-not-prepared’ amazing.
