This would be terrible. The City of Ventura should take the approach that the Twentynine Palms city council did with the Joshua Tree Visitor Center and transfer the lease out of the hands of the NPS and into the hands of a capable, local non-profit.

So amazed by all of our local firefighters and first responders who’ve stepped up to help fight these wildfires. I'm proud of our community for coming together to help our neighbors and we’ll be here for every step of rebuilding and recovery.
San Diego-area firefighters mobilized in LA, Navy helicopters on standby
Local fire crews from San Diego, Poway, Chula Vista, Carlsbad, and National City have already contributed to the fight against those fires, according to the San Diego Fire Department.
