Today I'm thinking about the most cursed drink order I ever received as a bartender:
Vodka water
Tall
No ice
Effectively, lukewarm, watered down vodka. I still think it was an alien who heard humans sometimes consume alcohol so they ordered a "cocktail" of alcohol and liquid.
It haunts me.

Sad to hear that Tom Stoppard has passed away, but he did so many incredible things in his 88 years. A HUGE influence on my work and one of the finest playwrights of any age, in my opinion.

I was in college to be a video game programmer so I could eventually become a lead designer and make my own games. But I realized I didnt like programming, but loved the worlds, characters, stories, and oh I want to be a writer.

Death of the Author means the author's interpretation about their works is not superior or more "correct" than anyone else's interpretation. It is not, nor has ever been, a way to excuse transphobia. As pointed out here, she could not be more anti-Death of the Author with her considerable retcons.
the thing that always gets me is that "death of the author" people will absolutely invoke Rowling's intent and biography to deflect criticism of parts of these books that people think aren't very good or communicate something morally or politically vile in their own right

May not be portfolioday, but I am still very available to write!
Frankenstein was very good! A primo, capital-R Romantic, Gothic yarn. Del Toro knows how to fill a camera and make a world visually stunning. Some pacing issues, but they're overshadowed by the unapologetically dramatic directing.
