Just heard a meltdown on NPR when someone was asked to have empathy for someone other than his friend - who said he had no empathy. I really hope someone puts together a compilation of all the times liberal and democratic people have been asked to have empathy for people who don’t agree with them.

Attempted murder by arson in PA, assassination and attempted assassination in MN, law enforcement and military deployed against peaceful demonstrations.

Do not be intimidated; do not believe the propaganda coming from those known to lie. We owe it to those who cannot speak out. #NoKings #Resist

Reading about Hortman's achievements and policies, now. A friend from MN points out she had been vocal about police reforms, especially use of deadly force, in MN in the wake of the killing of Daunte Wright. This statement from her in 2021- www.house.mn.gov/members/prof...

With the tragic assassination of a Minnesota Democratic leader, I’m going to underline this point again.
I know there's a lot going on, but the Secretary of Homeland Security declaring that federal troops are in California and Los Angeles to "liberate" the state and city from its duly-elected leaders really is a fourteen-alarm fire.
It's mind-blowing how little attention this extraordinary statement has received. It's briefly mentioned in a couple news articles, but this MSNBC opinion piece is the only extended discussion of it I've seen: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

The thing is, when we had high marginal tax rates on the rich, the rich still had yachts and second and third houses and fancy vacations and really good schools for their kids, so, yes, I think most people who are really very rich would do just fine, and the rest of the US would do better than now.
You are a beneficiary of Republican tax cuts then?

How would you feel about bringing the 94% tax rates on the rich, back again?

I understand in today's dollars, the 94% will kick in above $3 million a year. Could you maintain your lifestyle on $3 million a year? Could Musk?

The troll accounts are skyrocketing on @bsky.app right now. My advice is to not interact with them, just block them. If they say something bigoted report them, then block them. If they’re commenting on your post, you can hide their reply so other people don’t interact with them. #DontFeedTheTrolls

Thank goodness we didn’t vote the other candidate in because of the former administration’s policies.
Van Hollen: "He just said that it will be US policy to forcibly displace 2 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. That is ethnic cleansing by another name. He said the US would then own the Gaza Strip and we would develop it and other countries would take these Palestinians."
