Nah, it's time to sit them down and have a talk about the realities of their childhood. Keeping this from them as kids was an act of love that spared them indignities. Keeping this from them as adults is what produces ungrateful people who demonstrate none of the grace and generosity you gave them.
My grown children always tease me that porridge made with water is my favourite food because it's all they saw me eat. I hate porridge. I only ate it because it was 50p for a bag and I didn't want to let them know we were poor as shit. The 'proper food' was for them

I can’t get over the documentary about Malcolm X I watched that had like a solid 30 minutes dedicated to talking about what a sex magnet he was and how everyone desired him carnally

Perhaps a hot take, but do not think the White Panther Party needs to be reformed. Should white people be organizing in a similar fashion to the BPP? Absolutely! But this feels like trying the ride the coattails of the BPP instead of actually doing the work.
