Since 2000, political donations from the richest 100 Americans have increased nearly 140x.

They collectively spent over $1B in 2024, amounting to 1 in every 13 dollars spent during the election.

Is it any wonder why so many regular people feel like they no longer have a voice?

The vicious cycle of monopolization:

1) Corporations argue that their growth is just part of the free market.
2) Use their monopoly power to gouge consumers.
3) Take a portion of their profits to make political donations.
4) Lobby against antitrust enforcement.
5) Repeat.

Tyson is one of just a few companies that controls the entire meat market.

Just last month, it paid $85M to settle charges it illegally conspired with other meatpackers to raise pork prices.

Corporate monopolies are great for executives and a raw deal for everyone else.
Tyson CEO Donnie King made $22.7 million last year.

The week before Thanksgiving, he told 3,200 workers in Lexington, Nebraska that they're losing their jobs.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

Good morning and Happy Sunday everyone. I hope everyone has a good day!

Yesterday we went to the record store and the special thing about this record store especially is Murph the Store Cat, who is always enough reason alone to go in (aside from the great selection of vinyl and CDs).

Screens are changing young brains. Canada needs a plan
Brain imaging studies reveal that screen time can affect how young brains grow and function. Right now, we’re letting children's brains be the testing ground for unregulated innovation.

The EPA will approve two new pesticides containing “forever chemicals” and relax a reporting rule for companies who make products with forever chemicals.

The moves come after a $60 million lobbying blitz from the forever chemical industry.

Where is the MAHA outcry?

Tyson is closing a Nebraska plant that employs 3,200 workers in order to “right-size” its business.

The meatpacking giant paid its CEO $22.7M last year, 525x its median employee's pay.

It also spent $196M in stock buybacks to reward shareholders.

Textbook corporate greed.
