Telecom Animation Film is getting dissolved and absorved by TMS Entertainment.

As far as I remember, they had been in debt for a long time so it doesn't come as a total surprise, but it's still a sad news. Lupin the IIIRD The Immortal Bloodline was basically their swan song

I'm gonna share a thread of photos from this book from 1982, which is basically an official fan encyclopedia for Part 1. Otsuka did the cover art, and said basically "I tried to draw them like Part 1 but it's been 10 years so it's hard to do." The text here is just machine translation. #lupiniii
Lupin III PART 1 cover Words on the cover/poster The request was for the face of the original Lupin from the beginning, but it's been 10 years since then, and his face has changed a lot in that time, so it was difficult. The cover in particular has a hard-boiled touch, so I tried to create a cool atmosphere, and I think I managed to capture that. We had a young animator who fell in love with guns after watching the original Lupin in junior high clean up the original drawings, but I think he may have focused a little too much on guns. (Otsuka)
