I think @petergleick.bsky.social's comparisons are right on target here. I also don't think most Americans know that this is what is happening and what this means for this country. The dangers cannot be overstated at this point.
There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.

Reading some criticism of Brookfield here which I think is somewhat unfair. Carney explained how the green funds were legally in Bermuda to avoid double taxation. All taxes were paid in Canada.
