The Ontario Tories are criminalizing homelessness and drug use, whilst closing down safe-consumption sites. This will impact Indigenous communities negatively, who were not consulted on the SCS closures, and is a failure to consult on consumption sites.

Lets be clear. #CUPW isn't delaying your mail - Canada Post's management, and the Government is.

The refusal of Canada Post to negotiate in good faith, and their insistence on creating a two tiered workforce is what is stopping mail from getting through.

I support CUPW.
Striking Canada Post workers have been delivering "socio-economic" (i.e. pension, social assistance etc.) cheques across Canada. The exception being in the Atlantic provinces, where provincial governments in NS, NB, PEI & NL have REFUSED to take the union up on its offer.

It blows my mind that tech bros will continue to insist "Technological innovation" is the correct name for "Labour violations disguised as contract work." Privatisation has done serious damage to the US postal service. It seems unlikely that's what Canadians writ large want. #strike #union #CUPW

Postal workers in Canada are striking for fair wages & better working conditions.

This is putting them in direct conflict with the business model Amazon champions, where workers are treated as disposable & unions are crushed.

Great piece by @ParisMarx.com in @JacobinMag.bsky.social.

55,000 members of CUPW have been forced to take strike action in recent days, after a year of failed bargaining with Canada Post.

Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke is calling for the end of Canada’s public postal service because its workers have gone on strike.

The company’s leaders are increasingly pushing extreme right-wing positions in Canada. Gutting Canada Post would effectively end delivery in many rural and remote communities.

The provincial government has introduced proposed legislation today that will cut life-saving harm reduction healthcare services in the province, and prevent more harm reduction services from happening.
