I swear taking deep breaths has the opposite effect on me. It's like my body knows we only try taking deep breaths when something has already gone to shit and it starts my heart pounding.

The flip side of this is the male author who was asked about his writing routine, and who talked about how much he loved the feeling that he could close his door and then “the day is completely yours” to focus on writing. He had, at the time, two young children… and, of course, a wife

Everyone in the German healthcare system has a default setting of angry and rude I swear lol. God forbid you want to address TWO different issues at a doctor's appointment. You get five minutes and one issue per appointment and then you best be on your way!
