Greetings outlander. Why walk when you can ride? We make a special trip, just for you
I don't like the "hallucination" language that has emerged not because it's humanizing or w/e but because it belies the simple fact that every result an LLM has ever spat out, even when incidentally correct, is fundamentally hypothetical
lol this is gonna burst so fucking hard

The discord thing is like, discord isn't selling porn, discord isn't selling alcohol, discord isn't analogous in any way to places that kids shouldn't be! there's no "oh the internet makes it so hard to do this properly" argument bc discord provides a service that never needed to be age-gated

"Don’t talk to me about my own morality" is such a strange to say in response to someone expressing THEIR moral worldview. Like is DeLauro a literal solipsist?
“I would rather you vote for what is morally correct,” Davidson said.

“Don’t talk to me about my own morality,” DeLauro shot back.

“Don’t tell your constituents what they can and can’t talk to you about,” replied Rev. Nathan Empsall. “What you are voting for is not moral.”

seen a COUPLE of "uhh fort worth is a major suburb of dallas it's not like rural this isn't that surprising" but like, the vast majority of american conservatives are suburban rather than rural, due to the fact that actual rural americans are like 4% of the population nationwide

yknow the average joe shmoe doesn't really need to have good taste or the ability to appreciate the classics, and nobody needs to /prefer/ morrowind to newer games, but for someone who actually worked in any other medium to say shit like this would be incredibly embarrassing

"Go back and play Morrowind and tell me that’s the game you want to play again," said Bruce Nesmith, who worked for Bethesda for over 17 years, adding that playing The Elder Scrolls 3 "would not stand the test of time." https://bit.ly/4q4GoKh

Using technology to invent worse education than was previously possible. Sub-'abandoned in a ditch to fend for themselves' level education. An experiment to see how poorly educated a human can be before they spontaneously explode
We want to make sure tutoring isn't the preserve of a lucky few, but accessible to every child who needs it.

AI can help us do that.

Safe, personalised, one-to-one learning support to help every child achieve and thrive.

Do I deny that a plurarity and possibly a majority of victims were Jews? No. Do I deny that the primary ideological target of naziism were Jews? No. But do I insist that Hitler did in fact kill more than 6 million people? Yes, because I'm not a fucking nazi apologist
Nothing to see here, just the head of the Holocaust Educational Trust engaging in Holocaust revisionism.

more information and better information, more education and better education, more exposure to an actual wider variety of worldviews (not just the same far right worldview over and over), all of these things make people more leftist almost without exception and basically without limit

every time i go to the library downtown lately i am reminded of that recent post that was like "morals aside living in a multicultural city is the pinnacle of human experience and if you hate it you're defective and should feel defective"

for as evil and violent as cops are they also like, constantly fall afoul of literal cartoon buffoonery in a way nobody who is not a cop ever does. cops are constantly slipping on banana peels and landing facefirst in piles of dog doodoo. what's up with that

thing that keeps happening today: someone in will stancil's mentions will say dems should all do something that is obviously illegal. will says "that would be extremely illegal please don't do that". ten other people reply to this saying "oh so now you're accusing kat of doing something illegal???"
December 27, 2025 at 6:18 AM
i won't deny will is being a bit of a hater here and i certainly won't deny that will is often wrong and usually very annoying but i do think the response to what he's saying here would be very different if it weren't being said by someone we already consider annoying

we basically discovered in the 1890s that the human brain is incredibly good at motion interpolation and letting the brain do frame interpolation is how film worked for like 120 years then some people decided a tiny computer that's ten billion times worse at it should take over
