I'm Kate 👋 I work with authors, creators, and publishers on all kinds of books, comics, and games. Is there any worse system in the world than Ticketmaster for concerts? Signed up for a mailing list months ago, joined the queue early, randomly assigned a place that meant I had zero chance to buy tickets - and some of the people who succeeded are already selling them for profit 15 mins later...

Today's blog is my take on the "a day in the life" trend. Read on to find out what a freelance editor and proofreader actually does all day, along with some potentially interesting insights into freelance life... (and the cute cat content doesn't hurt either!) #amediting #freelance
A day in the life of a freelance editor and proofreader - KN Editorial
The topic of this week’s blog is a little more frivolous and self-indulgent than usual, but I know I’m addicted to “day in the life” type content myself, so I thought it might be interesting to at lea...

Spent the afternoon listening to agents talk about trends in publishing and what they're looking for in a pitch. Love to hear that horror is a big area of growth at the moment, especially blended with other genres. Historical horror, crime horror, SFF horror, middle-grade horror 🖤💀

My self-published The Matrix Illuminated book is a collection of interpretations, theories, a summary of referenced philosophical ideas and religions, and a lore book too.

Impossible to resist this very boopable snoot. (I promise this hasn't turned into a purely cat-based account. Writing and editing content will return at some point!)

My book The Matrix Illuminated sold 289 copies in its lifetime since 2021 (released just before Resurrections). One person read it all on Kindle Unlimited this month, and it sold another 4 copies, with 6 sold last month, particularly around the Christmas days.

Hope they enjoy it!

We can't wait to welcome our new kitty this week! Her rescuers do brilliant work, and so I'm sharing their fundraiser for the costs not covered by her adoption fee - just in case anyone else is looking for a good deed for the day 🐈❤️

So far this January, I've been editing sequels (book 4 of one series and book 3 of another). In both cases, I've worked with the author since their first books, and oh my god, I'm so enjoying revisiting these worlds and these characters again!
