She heard the blast while checking on her 6-year-old, with her 1-year-old in her arms.

I suggest we reframe this away from “equipoise” which no one understands and instead point out this is the same ethical flaw of the Tuskegee trial. It is unethical to study the natural history of infection when a known effective therapy exists.

Thats what they did in Tuskegee and now on our kids.
