i’ll never understand why public transit haters discourage use of public transit and want to defund it. if less people use cars the roads will have less traffic and you’ll get to where you want faster with your own car. stupid people

I’d probably get in trouble eventually for expressing this but I cannot opine enough how sports betting is a societal scourge, and I am just not going to advertise/promote/abet it

Just evil and greedy
Another price increase for the 2026 World Cup…

Sensing strong demand, FIFA raised the cost of many tickets to record-setting heights — the first large-scale implementation of its “variable pricing” strategy.

This just seems really lame idk
From @TheAthleticFC: First, he successfully trademarked his ‘Cold’ nickname.

Now, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has done the same with his signature shivering celebration. nyti.ms/47PVqMN

Other players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Gareth Bale and Erling Haaland have also had celebration trademarks confirmed.

I get being upset with the decision from a fan perspective, do think it could’ve gone either way but it’s not like it was the last kick of the game, if an offside goal in the first half was the only way they saw themselves getting back into it then you can’t say the better side didn’t win
Liverpool have contacted referees’ chief to raise concerns about VVD’s disallowed goal in the 3-0 defeat to Man City.

Liverpool have told (PGMOL) that they do not accept that the decision was arrived at for subjective reasons. That no elements of the criteria needed to disallow the goal were met “

In the last month, the FBI has charged players from two different leagues for roles in sports-betting scandals.

Either legalized gambling is exposing corruption that’s always been there.

Or it’s creating it.

Either answer is terrible for sports.

I get underlying xG is important for analysis but City also looked the significantly stronger side. Beyond the eye test City had double the shots and almost half of those on target, compared to one shot on target for Liverpool, and that’s while also not completely dominating possession

It definitely feels like one of the major obstacles to reforming spending is that any league tackling it on their own will just lose top players and struggle to compete in recruiting new talent compared to other leagues who aren’t following the same rules
Could you imagine the Premi League having a salary cap? Could even the playing field but that would be by running away the leagues biggest stars!
