What would be my "currently reading" pile if I weren't midway through a busy semester. So for now, my TBR line up waits patiently, and I gaze longingly.

They really hate Black women to have any influence or power whatsoever. They’ll only be happy if Black women take subservient positions that “put us in our place”

This is very important to be aware of, especially if you're still under the impression that women have anywhere close to equal rights in Medical spaces.
“If you’re that worried just tie your tubes” is not the simple solution people are making it out to be.

It’s shockingly difficult to access a tubal ligation when you’re in your prime childbearing years. Especially if you’re single.

Doctors want your husband’s permission.🧵

Coming home to this dog and her hugs is definitely one of life's joys. And photo credit goes to another of my life's joys @therustyshow.bsky.social ☘️💛

I've been thinking about ethics and theology as something that is embodied, made real through our actions in the world. Through my lens of chronic illness and immunocompromisation, there's much that we are a society, and as spiritual beings, have to learn about the gap between what we say and do.

Ableism teaches us to abandon each other.

Racism will disable you.
Transphobia will disable you.
Long COVID will disable you.
Genocide will disable you.
Climate change will disable you.

Do not obey when told to abandon the vulnerable.

Resistance & communities must be rooted in disability justice.

I am the sole masker in a hospital-based spiritual care placement. There has been at least one unit in active COVID outbreak every week since late September. I will never understand how health care workers are willing to play Russian roulette with a deadly virus.
If you’re someone who opposes masks in healthcare - or who doesn’t understand WHY they’re necessary - please read my plea to healthcare workers.

Vulnerable patients feel unsafe. Expendable. Terrified.

Needing the hospital is scary enough - we shouldn’t have to worry about forced infection too:
A Plea to Maskless Healthcare Workers from Vulnerable Patients
If you see a mask - wear a mask. Better yet - wear a mask all the time and show us you understand that we're still IN a pandemic. We are depending on you to keep us safe - please don't betray that.

How exhausting and scary it is to seek health care when the medical practitioners are some of the folks most entrenched in ableist biases
