Hi all. It has been a long time coming BUT, today as promised to myself I finally launched my first Substack blog. I hope folks enjoy my post and I am looking forward to creating good content for my readers. Thanks to everybody who told me to start this journey. The timing seems fitting.

I have so much hatred for my insurance company not covering my short acting insulin refill until tomorrow. Like somebody who’s diabetic can just go without their insulin…

It is the last day of #DisabilityPride2025 and I came here to say let’s please keep speaking loudly and proudly because #DisabilityJustice is critical for our survival. We must keep organizing together to protect our communities and stop the eradication of us by the actions of camp maga.

I realized today that I have been in the hospital at least once, but usually it’s been more than once, every month so far during 2025. 😑 #ChronicIllness #ChronicPain

I cannot begin to describe the relief I feel knowing I was able to get up this morning at 7am and take a muscle relaxer, pain medication, and my cannabis tincture then crawl back into bed, knowing I don’t have to meet the demands of any commitments or people today-I can just lay here for a while.

My thoughts on labor organizing are complicated and probably not well-informed, but my thoughts on racial and disability justice are very clear and direct: if you don't want to priortize accessibility because it's juet the right thing to do, you should at least do it because it benefits EVERYONE.
"Making disability issues an afterthought in labor necessarily excludes millions of disabled people of color." tcf.org/content/comm...

There is not an a dedicated hotline yet coming from Canada for United States people to call for suicide. The number being shared is for Trans support. Let’s not cause a problem for that and let’s please fact check things.

kinda worried abt how intentional/earnest fascist actions are being painted as "cognitive decline"

the shitheads who wrote project 2025 aren't in "cognitive decline", & that's the playbook this administration is following

it's disturbing how even leftists are attributing this to assumed disability

If you want to learn about the links between genocide, eugenics, and disability, I think the open access book "The First Into the Dark" is a good place to start.

I don’t want to do Monday tomorrow. I’ve never had less spoons. #DisabilitySky #ChronicIllness #ChronicPain #PCOSFor35Years #SepticShockSurvivor #LongCovid #KidneyDisease #TransmetatarsalAmputee I am completely exhausted from everything-work, health, and this political hell we are in.

My pain medication prescriptions ended 5 days before my scheduled follow up with my pain management doctor. When I tell you I’ve experienced hell in a true form I’ve been in the most pain enduring the most trauma.

This is terrible. Also please understand this is how every scientist and medical researcher in America feels right now.

“I put so much work into [my career curing cancer or other diseases], all worthless.”
I honestly hate myself so much right now this is the lowest I’ve felt in months. What’s even the point of covering the economy when it changes every second. I put so much work into the tariff analysis, all worthless. I would have been better off writing a garbage article with no details on April 3rd

Today's art: Please take a little time to look at this art by patients with ME/CFS. Life is challenging when you have ME, for the patient but also for their caregiver(s). This art provides some insight into what it's like.
Today it’s time to launch a big project I’ve had the privilege of working on: A Quiet Storm—an online art gallery showcasing the artwork of people living with severe ME/CFS. 1/7

A lot of truly amazing things happened around the globe today in response to the crisis we’re in. But the ableism also ran heavy-again. I’ll be writing about it as my next Substack piece.

I can’t get on the virtual gatherings because of the stupid zoom participant capacity rules. We need a more accessible option and zoom isn’t right for this larger scale work. #HandsOff #DisabilityJustice #ChronicIllness #LetsFindAccessibleSolutions
What are some ways my #ChronicIllness and #Disability folks are participating in the #HandsOff demos today? My days of large marches are over with my health. I’m always engaged politically, but it would be great to help folks get plugged into action who can’t physically march.

📢 Did you know 48 years ago on April 5th, disability movement founders led the longest non-violent occupation of a federal building in US History? April 5, 1977 disabled people organized to pass the federal 504 regulations, which protect people with disabilities from discrimination.

I’m been in the hospital a lot the last two months. I’ve missed interacting here with y’all. We have a lot of work to do to protect and support our communities. I’m already facing the ramifications of the hatred these fascists have against disabled people. More later, but I just want to say hi.
