I wonder if they’ll reposition further to the right, liberals towards the centre? #auspol

Has the LNP finally realised they have problems appealing to female voters…?

They’ll be even more stuffed next time around if either of these two are leading

International trends are certainly a part of it for my money — but generally agree here. It’s not just that the LNP well and truly dropped the ball; the person throwing it to them fumbled it majorly to begin with
I know it's going to be tempting for people overseas to see Australian Labor's win as part of an international centre-left trend, but that is overlooking the calamity that has been the Liberal Party over the past two months.

Until proven otherwise, I'm going to say this was mostly about Australia.

Next Federal LNP leader? I can’t think past Dan Tehan at the moment. He shows all the joy of a plank of wood, but otherwise has a relatable ‘every man’ kind of persona that would appeal to dyed-in-the-wool LNP voters. This kind of personality is extremely malleable by the LNP PR machine #auspol

How much is James McGrath being paid to advertise Adrian Schrinner’s Brisbane City Council administration on this ABC panel…?

This speech will be a point of much analysis — but if Labor don’t deliver there’s plenty in there for a future opposition campaign to use against them #auspol

Saying that Australia/Dickson can now have ‘Post-Dutt clarity’ is an excellent way to put it. I can’t top that.
Looks like Queensland and the Coalition are about to get some post-Dutts clarity 😎

An uncritical reliance on ‘merit’ in hiring can actually perpetuate bias and inequality.
Trump says diversity initiatives undermine merit. Decades of research show this is flawed

The defining question when future historians debate this era will be whether Trump was the cause of America's decline, or the inevitable result of it.

The legal prohibition against territorial conquest is a pillar of the current global legal order. Too bad it's dying.

The Norm Against Territorial Conquest Is in Its Death Throes
The norm against territorial conquest has underpinned the post-World War II rules-based order. But it now seems to be weakening.
