Just posting my knitting and stupid thoughts about films tbh
Then: young Kat was very deeply invested in the combo of Rayman 2 and Tarzan (which is a very scary game when you have to fight the big leopard) but a year or two later I did get hold of Pokémon gold which turned me into the annoying woman I am today so that’s my ‘now’

I love looking through these 2000s ones and seeing all these film tie in games, there should be more of those! Anyway then would be Pokémon diamond, and now of course it’s oblivion

Then: Nancy drew legend of the crystal skull. I actually replayed this lately and I do think it has been usurped by mass effect but it’s still good and surprisingly scary

Decided 2026 is going to be the year I get into spy films since I just wrapped all my Christmas presents while watching the night manager and remembered how good that was

💯 new vegas then, now it’s a tie between new vegas and red dead redemption Specifically undead nightmare lmao. Every game should have a full on zombie apocalypse dlc imo

Omg 2012. My housemate and I finished our final uni exams and had a bunch of completely free time so we powered through me3 together and then at the ending we were just like “what the actual fuck” and I’m not sure I’ve touched it since??? So then: me3, now: hotline Miami?? I think!

Earliest known ancestor of the scrub daddy
‘Buddo’ - a rare representation of a human figure from the British Neolithic, dating to around 2900-2400 BC. Discovered at Skara Brae in the mid-C19th, it was re-discovered amongst the archaeological collections at Stromness Museum in 2016. 📸 My own. #FindsFriday #Archaeology

Ok I’ve been through several pages and can’t find any standout games that I did play in 2022 for then, but my answer for now is gonna be a pentiment / golden idol tie because deep down I am just a point and click mystery games freak

🧶 why would I finish an existing project when I can just start something new? Have been trying to find Yves Klein blue yarn for a cable knit jumper for forever, this isn’t a perfect match but it’s cheaper so it’ll do 😅 Making the Handsome Chris knives out sweater in Wool of the Andes ‘celestial’

Animal crossing is (I think) the only game I’ve ever preordered and basically got me through 2020 even though I haven’t picked it up in ages. Now I’d give an honourable mention to paradise killer - love everything about that game except it gives me motion sickness 😔

I’m having a lot of fun with these even tho I basically never play games when they come out! 2019 was the year of outer worlds / untitled goose game for me and now I think disco elysium has probably pushed them down a tier

I’m learning from this that I really haven’t played many 2015 releases. I’m only a few hours in but might swap out fallout 4 (which is absolutely my most played) for the Witcher 3???
Not expecting people to go silly like I have, but was hoping some of you would use this as a prompt.

Since I’m got time to kill, trying to go back and recall what I would say my favourite game of a given year was back then vs. what I’d say now

2024 then/now: Astro Bot by default, unless Shadow of the Erdtree counts
