Old chap. mostly here to post photos but might occasionally stray into politics (apologies, I just can't help myself!).
I'm a long term Pentax SLR/dSLR user and currently have a couple of K3s. One with a 70-200mm and the other with a 17-50mm
I'm biased as I was designated as being clinically vulnerable and my wife as clinically extremely vulnerable. Nothing has really changed with our "underlying conditions" over the last five years. We still mask, we pay for our Covid jabs, we still effectively shield.
💔 Clinically Vulnerable Families, including children, are still being left behind.

We're fighting for clean air, vaccines, antivirals, legal recognition etc. - but we can’t keep going without your help!

Every £ supports our work.
Please donate if you can🙏 & share if you can't.

Thank you!

What Johnson meant - All children must be in school even if it puts themselves or any vulnerable family members at risk of a deadly disease.
As the Children's module comes to a close,
@adamwagner1.bsky.social KC will be sharing our closing statement.

Boris Johnson said that "ALL children MUST be in school" and implemented strict fines and prosecutions for non-attendance.

Human rights to #educationANDlives put in conflict.

As a vulnerable 73 year old, married to a 70 year old extremely vulnerable person it does feel as if the government thinks I'm expendable.

Luckily, I can (just) about afford private vaccinations at £95 each.
"Ministers are under pressure to U-turn on the decision to limit access to the Covid vaccine over fears it is creating a two-tier healthcare system as demand for private jabs soars."

The MILLIONS of people who were denied vaccines are suddenly realising.

@rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social this was a terrible idea.

Not only will the NHS struggle this autumn / winter, but people will suffer and die unnecessarily.

It isn't too late for a U-turn!

Gosh - I've not posted here for 4 months!!!

This #photo made me think of an old film called On Golden Pond.

Except that's the #Mediterranean rather than a pond. The photo was taken early on a November morning from the balcony of our hotel room in #Torremolinos.

COVID is AIRBORNE, effective and appropriate ventilation and masking work, COVID infections are bad, Long COVID is real and serious.
Why, throughout time, have those who should know better, ignored the simple facts about air - and its role in the spreading of disease?

Carl Zimmer explores the hidden world of the aerobiome
In Airborne, Zimmer tells how scientists learned about the “gaseous ocean” we swim in — and the trillions of life forms we share it with.

A few years ago we had a wet week in north Devon. I guess us photographers make the best of what we have available.

I'm normally absolutely crap at this sort of photo. However, for once, it came out OK

Crikey! It's coming up to ten tears since we stayed in the left hand, downstairs apartment overlooking #Windermere.

Happily the lake wasn't an open sewer back then!

The "joys" (AKA lack of quality) of affordable digital photography in 2001. My poor #Olympus 2MP camera wasn't really up to the job. FWIW I think the best dSLR at the time was 4MP. It was also a week before Christmas Day and was bloody freezing!

Just one of the magical things about #Venice is that some canals have been filled in to make them streets. If you get a chance to visit, these street names start Rio Tera.
And some have additional clues such as on Rio Tera Antonio Foscarini - bricked-up arches!
