I saw this bird in my garden two days ago. Possibly a goshawk. Merlin gave this and three other hawks as possibilities. But the others all have some reddish color. This bird has none. Merlin also says that this bird is scarce where I live (Harlem, New York City).

What do you think? #birds

Looking for people with a math or physics interest to try out scripta.io and help me get it ready for public release. Lots of work still to do, but good enough for some lecture notes I am writing. Written in Elm — elm-lang.org.

But when Dr. Andrew Ryan Davis, the obstetrician on duty, finally arrived, he said it was the hospital’s “routine” to give a drug called misoprostol to help the body pass the tissue, Hope recalled. Hope trusted the doctor. Porsha took the pills, according to records, and the bleeding continued.

Resurrecting an invented word I used often 2017-2020 to describe MAGA reaction to dissenting views: thugocracy. Governing by threat and elevating specialists in threat and corruption to positions of authority.
In recent days, Republican politicians have taken to the airwaves, threatening blue states that fail to comply with the Trump administration’s draconian immigration policies with the withdrawal of federal funding.

Jack Smith will now write a report on Jan 6 investigation. He must include declinations to prosecute. It will be interesting to see if he and his team found evidence of crimes by members of Congress – who have seemingly gotten off scot-free – but declined to bring charges for constitutional reasons

He had done this before
Each time better, each time different
Each time something went wrong.

Was it the long hours at the work bench?
Even a deity has limits.
Was the grand plan built with a hidden flaw?
Was it simply …

Qisma, kismet, the threads of the past
Knot in the moment.
From a tangle of possible futures
Fate chooses one

Why was it chosen, and by whom?
What can be known?

I'm also going to keep posting nature stuff. We need the beauty and hope to keep ourselves going and nature will need us to look out for it.

Community is super important and I am very happy to have all of you here, old friends and new.
