Jack Grealish is so good. Everton have sorely lacked that type of talent from him and Dewsbury-Hall for years.

That Kevin Fiala pass to QB on that goal is what its all about. Lesser brains put that into the goalies chest because its a point blank look - but low % in that circumstance. So good. #GoKingsGo

Jake Allen is now in the top 3 of the NHL in goals saved above expected. The two goalies ahead of him are Vezina contenders. Pretty good company.

This implies his usage at home is very different from his usage on the road.

At home he starts 32.7% of his shifts on the fly when paired with Edmundson.

On the road he starts 45% of his shifts on the fly when paired with Edmundson.

Huge difference.

Anaecdotally it feels like #LAKings Brandt Clarke is way more involved on the road (like tonight), than at home.

Well.....5v5 per NST:

xGF/60
Home: 2.43
Away: 3.38

xGF%
H: 47.8%
A: 60.3%

HDCF/60

A: 15.62

Hartman has had a game so far, nice tip on that PPG to tie the game.

Nice play from Moore to Clarke, just missed connecting in tight.

Fine road period overall for #GoKingsGo. PPG, Kuemper with some big saves. Hartman line has done a number on 6-92, decent push after Kempe goal.

Sweet Lord that's a weak call on Rossi.

The Rantanen courtship ended up being a PR loss in the court of public opinion, but the net result of turning Necas into Stankoven and those draft picks (plus a few months of Taylor Hall) was a pretty significant win. If they had traded Necas in July they do not get anything close to that.
I really gotta stop reading Canes related Reddit posts. I know most of these people just checked in, but it’s like they don’t understand that Necas was gonna walk after this deal. It’s not a fumble to turn that into Stankoven, two firsts, and two thirds AND a chance to court Rantanen.

He wasn't beloved by McLellan/Hiller, especially not trusted defensively. I don't really see any on-ice reasons for that lack of trust; if he was bad defensively in some subtle way it didn't show in chances or goals against that I can see.

Kaliyev has looked pretty good (in per-minute) terms in 187 nhl games despite not playing very many minutes per game. One of those (very common) times where you have to play a player more than you're comfortable in order to find out what you've really got.

Thoughts on Arthur Kaliyev for #NYR

- Might be a "4A" guy, but he's done enough so far to warrant some kind of 3L or 2L run
- Bott. 10-level on-ice save % has contributed to bad luck, on-ice shot % was down ~20% last season
- Shot & ixG rates are strong for limited TOI (see next post)

Worthy risk.

LAK waiving Kaliyev, a former 33rd overall pick, who was a top player for two US WJC teams is an obvious boon for any team that puts in a claim.

He's 22, 6'2", 210 lbs and coming off a broken clavicle, so he hasn't played this year yet.

Here is his 3 year RAPM ending in the 2023-24 season.

I wonder who claims Arthur Kaliyev? Think Nashville makes a lot of sense?
