Today, I'm supposed to be selecting carpet colors for the new build at a design center. I don't know why I'm involved at all. I already told them I'm colorblind.

Got my appliance order finished. They almost got a wifi-enabled stove through, but I spotted it and it's been replaced.

Explaining to my dog that even though he's probably got years remaining, in about 9 months, I'll start searching for his replacement. BUT, not because he's not a good dog. He's a very good dog. It's nothing to do with his behavior, but because he's getting old and he needs to train his replacement.

It does NOT feel like 38 degrees F out there. It feels like 3.

My idea for 'good uses for AI' is a video game companion character like Skyrim's Lydia except it's an Army E-4 who complains *constantly* whenever they come within earshot about something that happened 30 minutes ago in the game.

Today, I have to go appliance shopping with my home builder. I'm not at all prepared for this level of decision-making.
As far as I can tell, *ALL* brands are terrible for their own reasons.
I'm just happy that I still have my washer and dryer from 1992.

Yesterday, my rural neighbor, Gordon, came over HOT under the collar about somebody shooting on his property. I told him that I'd been there since Saturday and hadn't heard it.
Anyway, thinking back on it, I think he was *accusing* me.
Gordon, I have an air rifle on that property.

I'm running local LLMs on 3 GPUs for them to come up with a better sentence than "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." for covering all of the letters:

missing 1 Quickly seize the square, jumping over fences with zealous, brave strides. 'x' duplicates: 15 'quiclseztharnov'

On weekends, I camp overnight on a property I'm getting ready to build a house on. I almost always oversleep.

HOWEVER, today I woke up at 10.

Y'all have any idea how stressful it is to build a house? It's like everybody is against you but fully supportive.
For instance, I have to get electricity to the site, it costs per foot. However, they won't give me a quote until there's a foundation. I can't get a foundation without the loan.

I really don't like baseball. I find it extremely tedious. That said, I could watch videos of fans catching home runs and foul balls all day long. Especially people holding toddlers and catching the ball at the same time. In fact, maybe if you gave the players on the field a toddler to hold...

What is even the purpose of a vest? I've never once thought to myself, "My torso is cold, but my arms are nice and warm."
If anything, it's just the opposite.

I'd rather have an anti-vest or something. Just arms, ya know?

This was unquestionably an enormous concern of the Founders, and, consequently, a key feature of our constitutional government.
If U.S. states have any degree of sovereignty, if there’s any states’ rights at all, it is the right not to be invaded by the armed forces of another U.S. state.

Not a fan of Charlie Kirk but shooting him is *NOT* the solution.

Former co-worker came to visit the property I'm clearing. I gave him the option to mow grass with the tractor, cut down a dead tree with a chainsaw, shoot a dead tree with a pistol, dig a random hole with the backhoe, or dig out a stump with the backhoe.
He chose the stump.

Had the newb share his screen. At one point, "It's in my sent mail somewhere," and clicks on the sent folder.
I said, "Well, I suppose it's a good thing it doesn't say, 'Jeff has feelings." Other call participants are all, "What?"

"Well, it says right there 'Jeff has STRONG opinions on EVERYTHING'"

I'm not usually one for heralding commercial services, but I'm watching Arrival on Pluto.TV and it's with commercials BUT the commercials aren't at 120dB! Like, the commercials are the same volume as the movie and stuff! It's amazing and I only barely even noticed it because it WASN'T out to get me.

My bank and my builder both emailing me to ask my why I don't respond to their emails and telling them both, "Ask all of my former bosses. I expect they all have the same question."
