I'm shaking almost too hard to type. I entered SLC airport and heard screams and cries for help. I could see people gathered around, watching. I sped over to discover this woman face down on the floor, four grown men pushing her down, while she cried "HELP ME" and pled for her child.

Russell Vought is not only Pres. Trump’s budget director but also an author of Project 2025, and he’s seizing this government shutdown moment to pursue his ideological drive to gut federal agencies and programs that benefit Americans. #Velshi
The Vought Doctrine: Make it hurt
It’s day five and counting of a budget impasse in Washington, but critics say characterizing this moment as a government “shutdown” is misleading. For months, Donald Trump and his budget director Russell Vought have taken a sledgehammer to the federal bureaucracy and are now using this moment to gut agencies and programs that benefit working and middle-class Americans, while conveniently keeping in place everything that benefits the wealthy.

IDIOTIC. Trump’s own Director of National Intelligence said there’s no evidence Iran was close to having a nuclear weapon. Now Trump has stupidly, needlessly and dangerously bombed Iran under false pretenses. This makes America and its allies less safe, not more.

George Floyd died at the hands of a police officer. We only know the truth because of a 17-year-old with a cell phone camera. But a camera can’t be the only defense against police brutality #Velshi
Velshi: A Cell Phone Camera Can’t be the Only Defense Against Police Brutality
On May 25th, 2020, the Minneapolis Police Department released a statement saying “Man Dies After Medical Incident During Police Interaction”. The man in question was George Floyd and he was murdered by Officer Derek Chauvin. That initial police statement was false. And the truth only came out because of a 17-year-old with a cell phone camera. But, it should not be the work of a civilian to hold law enforcement to account. A cell phone with a camera should not be the only defense against police brutality.

Just so we’re clear, everybody calling Kilmar Abrego Garcia a “terrorist” or a “gang member” are lying, and they know they’re lying, and they repeat it for purposes of confusing people who don’t follow this stuff closely into accepting what was done to him.

Mahmoud Khalil, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and the soul of America
Two ongoing court cases involving lawfully present immigrants—Mahmoud Khalil and Kilmar Abrego Garcia—who were detained under legally dubious circumstances, have emerged as flashpoints in a broader reckoning over America’s identity, the fate of its democracy, and the role of the Courts in our system of checks and balances.
