"Socialists in office need to maintain goodwill towards the Dems and Jefferies."

The Dems and Jeffries:
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Make DSA more democratic, make DSA a mass party, let’s get socialism in our lifetimes
🧵DSA must change into something strong enough to meaningfully influence politics on the scale of the next presidential election, potential general strike, and whatever other national ruptures may come.

So this convention, we must become a DSA For All.

Last night thousands of New Yorkers turned up on a moment’s notice to demand @nyulangone.bsky.social stop cutting off healthcare to trans youth.

As more and more hospitals capitulate to authoritarian attacks on our healthcare system, we know this fight is just beginning 1/3

Fine if you want to repeat this but the obvious thing left unsaid here is that people don’t believe Democrats mean what they say either. The erosion of political reality required liberal collaboration and Democrats have happily gone along with everything that brought us here
cannot be said enough that for a decade a critical number of americans have simply refused to accept that he means what he says
I hold a lot of disdain for the people who didn’t see this coming given P2025 but it does seem like the actual support for these goals is nonexistent, everyone who voted for him did so under the incredibly stupid assumption that he wouldn’t do this

Always amazed by the grace that liberals will extend to people with massive power. It’s not Chuck Schumers fault! He’s only been one of the most powerful people on the planet for a decade now.
Something that I think we can all agree on is that the current generation of Democratic leadership is simply not optimized for the Attention Age. Not really their fault! And honestly, they may be better people for it, but it's a pretty pressing political problem.

The nice thing about all these wonk guys going full mask off is the pretense of them actually being smart has been dropped and we can now clearly see them for the resentful little creeps they have always been
I guess I'm too woke because I find the proliferation of this really off-putting and gross. The fact that it's now reached the "enlightened centrists" class is depressing.

Nice example of how Silicon Valley's new anti-woke politics is all about reasserting control over their workers.
It is *morbidly* fascinating to see the world through Marc Andreessen’s paranoid eyes, in this Q&A

Deep inside his comments is this one

the executives at *multiple* tech firms felt they were at imminent risk of “violent riots” from their staff

I … what?

Ultimately Democrats vulnerability on trans rights has nothing to do with trans rights. What people hear is that Democrats care more about trans rights than their own concerns, a message that would have zero traction if they felt Democrats genuinely did care about their own concerns

I think this is because a central trick of reactionary/fascist politics is to invert the realities of power. Even if reactionaries gain power, maintenance of it requires escalation of that inversion to construct a world where miseries of capitalism are blamed on Hamas, wokeness, whatever
What I find so funny about these people is that they won and it’s not enough for them. They’re in power, they control the fate of everything in the country, they took over Twitter. And yet, they can’t help but go searching for the same people that they dislike so much.

The people in this video need a better option to vote for and it’s up to us to give it to them. Trump is going to fail them too
Why did so many working class New Yorkers vote for Donald Trump last week — and even more not vote at all?

I went to Hillside Ave in Queens and Fordham Rd in the Bronx to find out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7Fc...

You are simply not going to convince me that half the country wants to murder trans people or whatever when Zohran goes and talks to them on the street and they are like “I can’t afford groceries” or they talk about the actual murders in Gaza we are all watching every day on our phones

It’s worth emphasizing that even bad websites for public services are the result of privatization. NY State has almost no full time tech staff to work on UI. CUNY spent $600 million (!!) on a custom software system from Oracle that everyone hated pscbc.blogspot.com/2013/03/cuny...

it's been the case for a while now that one of the most vocally transphobic segments of American (and British) society is actually elite liberals and Seth Moulton is no exception. trans people are simply an inconvenient speed bump in his career aspirations
