Statement Re: OU Discrimination Investigation

Today, my client, Mel Curth, submitted her appeal of the University's Institutional Equity Office finding that she engaged in arbitrary and capricious grading of a student's assignment in violation of that student's religious liberty.

Awesome to see the interview clip I found being used in Mel Curth's case. Nice.
During one interview, the student admitted that she merely looked at the topic and then rushed together a response based on her personal feelings regarding a tangential issue that was the main thesis of the assigned article, because she was in a hurry to go see a play that evening with her friend.

I’m not super familiar with the DC theater scene but I’m, like, 99.9% sure there’s more than one performing-arts space within the city limits.
This is not hard. Artists are not responsible for ensuring the Kennedy Center remains relevant and successful. The center’s board is responsible for that, in a fiduciary way. All of this energy being directed at artists should be re-directed at the board.

Not the worst part here, but the DC area has a plethora of concert venues and stage shows. Kennedy Center is a big part of that but far from the only game in town. Sales and shows fled so easily in part b/c there are lots of easy alternatives. Nobody in the habit will be in want of plays to go see.

A perfect illustration of @larryglickman.bsky.social’s point about how reporters treat aggressive campaigns of white resentment as natural phenomena that have no agency or agenda behind them.

Backlash politics is a fact of life! Let’s focus on how liberals must accept it and adjust, like we have!
Real "oh my god, she admit it" moment here. Trump is treated as an uninteresting figure without agency so we can dump endless criticism on liberals for how they react to his "natural disaster." He "doesn't participate in moral frameworks" lmfao

Earlier this year, Republicans tried to eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities in their 2026 budget, while proposing a 13% increase in defense spending. The Institute of Museum and Library Services just got their funding back through courts.

If the damage being done wasn't so serious, it'd be kind of funny how his whole deal is "no this isn't like Dred Scott" and then he keeps haphazardly bumbling into reinventing Dred Scott from scratch.
Did I bang my head this morning, because this seems to be egregiously inaccurate:

The saga may FINALLY be coming to a close. But for what it’s worth, do not EVER use ThredUp to get rid of or sell old clothes.

And don’t use FedEx either, if you can help it. Although you might have to, because they might do what they did and force USPS to use them for returns. 😑
Has anyone else ever had an experience with the USPS “tendering to return service”? I’m trying to get a package returned to me, but it seems like they farmed it out to a private company, and I have no idea which. It’s basically just lost now.

Post office, I love you, but you’re bringing me down.

this seems specifically designed to break mail-in voting (where deadlines are defined by postmark)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.
