honestly im impressed. im genuinely impressed about the hogsh*t takes that this man can produce entirely authentically. its remarkable. its like that jpeg about not participating in fetish pile-on. stellar
Y’all talked too much about the TN-7 race, turned it high salience, juiced turnout, and wrecked Dems’ chances of sneaking in a win.

I do not think that anyone should be thinking about TPUSA when grading. I realize I am speaking from relative privilege but also feel that that is an intolerable situation that anyone with means should be trying to escape from, and whatever political economy is responsible for it needs to change.

NYT: “.. Even for Mr. Trump — who has a long history of insulting Black people, particularly those from African countries — his outburst was shocking in its unapologetic bigotry.”

Hegseth is posting crap like this because he is confident in getting a presidential pardon.

He’s confident in a presidential pardon because it’s an official act for Trump, and SCOTUS all but legalized illegal official acts in Trump v. USA.
This is what the so-called "Secretary of War" is tweeting amid reports that his department ordered a second strike to make sure they killed survivors of a boat they attacked that they allege with no proof carries drugs (which doesn't justify bombing them even it were true)

we have forgotten about signalgate havent we
GOP Rep. Don Bacon: "I don't think Secretary Hegseth would be foolish enough to make this decision to say, 'Kill everybody. Kill the survivors,' because that's a clear violation of the law of war."

As I try to underline in this essay, fear of breakdown isn't just an individual psychic phenomenon; it can also be a mass sociological phenomenon with substantial political implications.

For anyone that knows, is there a difference between a negative act (disobedience) and a positive act (actually seditious conduct like conspiracy or coup)? does sedition include disobedience willy nilly?
Them: “You don’t have to obey illegal orders.”

Him: “That’s seditious! They should be hanged!”

Definitely not beating the giving-illegal-orders allegations.

genuinely no more important opinion you can have than a political opinion and ppl treat having one with the same discipline as having an opinion on the best ice cream flavor

Id recommend both maher and oswalt to read executive orders 14168 and 14187
PATTON OSWALT: These people are scared. They're being targeted. We're watching them be targeted right now. We're watching transgender people be targeted in a very aggressive way, so—

BILL MAHER: We are? Where?

OSWALT: Oh my god.

MAHER: Where are they being targeted?

truly a great thread. summers provided the ideological support, as an economist of neoliberalism, for the order that is decaying precisely at this moment. I cant underscore this enough. sitting on various boards is evidence of the ideologico-intellectual legitimacy he added to those enterprises
“Elite” is a pretty contested term and seems to shift between referring to a fairly small group to referring to anyone with a college degree and white collar employment. But Larry Summers really is a useful exemplar. There’s people like him that just get to sit at every single table somehow.

Trump's economy is being held up by a massive AI bubble.

A recent study found that of 300 companies that owned generative AI tools, 95% reported zero return on their investments.

We will not entertain a bailout of these companies should this bubble pop.
