The Pentagon is restoring a portrait of Gen. Robert E. Lee, which includes a slave guiding the Confederate general’s horse in the background, to the West Point library three years after a congressionally mandated commission ordered it removed, officials said.

Have been paying attention to all the birds I share space with using the Merlin app that I have thanks to @birdsoftheworld.bsky.social (also have the book). And now I am worried this young downy woodpecker is out hopping around my lawn. Doesn’t seem it can fly but talons good for climbing.

The way the US government keeps asserting they are doing good work and refuse to see any details. First it was pardoning everyone arrested due to January 6. It is happening across the gov cuts and the deportations and more. It shows a total disregard for human rights, for the legal system, etc.

Watching TV and a @target ad and gotta do a
#FactCheck. The ad shows a woman pick a dragonfruit from a tree. Problem is dragonfruit grows on a cactus. I bet nobody had any idea that lots of fruit & vegetables have distinctive appearance on farms. But it definitely matters if you work in ag.

Was listening to podcasts as I ran errands & as this story started, they don’t read the headline & I didn’t have it up on the screen. I thought that sounds like us, like the St Louis metro.

And then it came, her story was about the Lou & our growth plan.

Having a rich man look for smart ways to save money is beyond wrong-headed. We know he has a pattern of messing stuff up. Let's have single moms who have raised kids w/o child support courts ordered, who still found ways to meet needs & children felt seen even if they didn't get all they wanted.

Watching #facethenation and as #marcorubio is interviewed I wonder what sort of cognitive dissonance is running through his mind. He projects such a sense of stability around the state department which is amazing since there is so much chaos being created on the diplomatic front.

Years ago when I was working for a big company, some of us made #farmshirtfriday a thing to wear jeans & tshirts. Others decided to do #scishirtfriday. Today as I looked for a base layer, I saw this old fave. Figure with the way the cabinet is headed, advocacy with my whole chest is in order.
