Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed answered questions in parliament today. Loosely addressing recent clashes & his gov's fallout with neighbouring Eritrea. When asked what was behind the feud with Eritrea, he stated that things began to unravel when Eritrean soldiers massacred civilians during the Tigray war.

Humanitarian workers should never be targets.
On Feb. 3, our hospital in Lankien, #SouthSudan was hit in an airstrike by government forces. One MSF staff member sustained minor injuries. We lost most of our critical supplies for providing medical care.

In war, childhood is reshaped by violence.

When schools turn into shelters, classrooms fall silent, and education is replaced by survival.

This is the reality of war for civilians, and it should never be a childhood.

In 2024, we documented 284.4 K cases of missing people in almost 100 countries affected by armed conflict and/or armed violence, and the number is likely far higher.

Behind every missing person is a family looking for answers. They deserve to know.

A special thought on this Christmas morning to all those suffering from hunger and war - in particular the IDPs in the Hitsats IDP Camp in the Tigray Region of Northern Ethiopia. May God bless those who need it most. Praying hard that somehow the fate of those suffering could be improved 🕯️.
