Onze Lieve Vrouw Van Vrede - Bid voor ons! Our Lady of Peace pray for us!

Beautifully kept shrine in #Kinrooi Belgium. After the events of the past weeks, these traditional shrines are starting to make more sense to me. Some of them are centuries old, but the message is still spot on today!

Fascinating: in the city center of Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, there is a gift shop called “Ethiopia”. Anybody knows the story behind this place? What is the link?

Me standing in front of Maryam Dengelat Church near Idaga Hamus, #Tigray. Picture taken in March 2018. In the same spot, Eritrean troops would kill more than one hundred men, women and children two and a half years later, on 30 November 2020. Strong memories - unable to forget.

At home, we have a lot of baskets from #Ethiopia. Like this one, bought some years ago in #Tigray. Thinking this afternoon about the lady who made this beautiful basket. Who is she? What happened to her during the past years? Is she living in peace now?
