I’m not saying this will lead to a draft. I’m just thinking if something did lead to a draft, who would Hegseth draft? Would these draftees be light of skin tone? Straight in orientation? Certainly, they will be light of wallet. I don’t think impeachment is strong enough.

I’m just back from Asheville, NC, where the ostensibly liberal local gov’t has declared nobody’s living in tents anymore. Which is a) false; b) excludes long term tent dwellers who have many reasons.

Actual democracy is not possible without a reliable press. In the absence of a press, people, at best, will vote uncritically from their default positions. At worst, they will vote based on propaganda that uses their default positions. How do we create a reliable press that people will see/hear?
the thing about being a political junkie is you have extremely difficult time conceptualizing how someone could be totally ignorant of politics but i would strongly encourage you to imagine the kind of person who googled “did biden drop out?” on november 4th and then cast a ballot on november 5th
