The only VP to write a #1 hit, the only one to be born in Marietta, Ohio, and the first one to win the Nobel Peace Prize for 82 years.
When the awards are announced in 1926, they will include George Bernard Shaw (literature) and U.S. Vice President Charles Dawes (peace, for devising Germany's war reparations plan).

I remember thinking the internet would be better at preserving work than the pre-digital age, and it feels increasingly clear the opposite is true

If you ever need to understand how bad Kansas State football was before Bill Snyder, consider that:

—Kansas State has beaten Kansas 16 times in a row, and won 11 in a row from 1993-2003
—Kansas still leads the overall series 65-52

Let's get this fixed! Big news for statheads.
Fun fact that I've learned while researching old NFL games: Eric Dickerson's 1984 all-time rushing record is wrong.

In Week 8, there's a blown exchange between Jeff Kemp and Dickerson. Dickerson is charged with a 2-yard loss/fumble but by rule it should be a 0-yard run/fumble for Kemp. (1/x)

“Kiss my grits,” her character, Flo, was known to say. But that high-profile role was just one facet of a long, busy stage and screen career.

Unless you work for the NBA or a tv network, why should we care what the "bad ratings" are for any matchup? Is the NBA on the verge of going out of business or not being televised? Nope. Bring on the best teams.

Kansas as a No. 8 seed hasn’t happened since 2000….we are closer than I ever imagined.
