I guess I haven't posted on here in awhile and haven't shared the link to my book. So, if you haven't seen it yet, I wrote a book about why the Supreme Court has been terrible on voting rights. Check it out: www.amazon.com/Court-v-Vote...

On this day in 1917, NY women won equal voting rights. The referendum victory—703,129 votes to 600,776—came after years of suffrage marches in NY and a hard-fought loss in a 1915 NY referendum. The victory helped set the stage for the final push for the Nineteenth Amendment. #WeTheMen

Today I ugly cried in front of 75 law students.

Saying goodbye to our dog, Rudy, has been insanely hard. He's been a constant in our lives for the past 16 and a half years. It truly is like losing a family member.

State constitutions have broad pro-voter rights. Voters care.
Pennsylvania Justice David Wecht to @boltsmag.org: “The projected victory for the three of us speaks well of our democracy. We all campaigned on the basis of vindicating the Pennsylvania constitution’s free and equal elections clause, and we’re all committed to continuing to vindicate that right.”
Democrats have successfully defended three seats on the all-important Pennsylvania Supreme Court. This means the court will be controlled by Ds through the midterms, and almost definitely through 2028 as well.

This is among the more important elections tonight.
Some very early results show Maine’s Question 1, a Republican measure to restrict mail voting and require voter ID, running well behind Trump in 2024, when he lost Maine by 7.

For example… Newry was Harris +11, but opposed Q1 +30. Dixmont was Trump +28, but supported Q1 only +7.

Voters:

You got this.

Make a plan to vote. Then just follow the plan.

Vote early if you can.

There are plenty of ways to make your voice heard, loud and clear. Just try to tune out the noise.

for everyone very concerned about Maine elections, there's a ballot measure this November, funded by Leonard Leo, to make voting a lot harder in the state. Could have big impact in 2026 if it passes

@burness.bsky.social did a deep dive at @boltsmag.org

Question 1, on the November ballot, would set up a barrage of new restrictions on absentee ballots that would considerably affect older voters and people with disabilities.

What happened in the 2020 election is that there was a well-run, fraud-free election and the people spoke through their votes.

Same as in 2024.
Trump: "We can never let what happened in the 2020 election happen again. We just can't let that happen. I know Kash is working on it, everybody is working on it. And certainly Tulsi is working on it. We can't let that happen again to our country."

Almost 90 million people didn’t vote in 2024.

Everyone should commit to finding at least one person who didn’t vote in 2024 to bring them to the polls for the next election.

That’s how you create the democracy you want.

"GOP Rep. James Comer of the First District — which is oddly stretched from far west Kentucky to Frankfort — is in the most comfortable position."

That's one way to describe extreme partisan gerrymandering.
