You’re excited about a 60 minute Direct because you think that means Sakurai’s going to reveal an ambitious story mode.

I’m excited for a 60 minute Direct because that means Sakurai is gonna spend 5 minutes explaining how much he loves his wife’s UI design for the Options menu.

I love talking about movies but its always a secondary activity to Watching and Experiencing them. The good and the bad.

I worry social media had reversed that, where being a part of Movie Discourse (and worse contrarians within it!) has become the Priority and Experiencing them, secondary.
Saw a negative review of Knives Out and Glass Onion that was essentially "movies like this shouldn't be about contemporary issues in the real world" and what are we doing here?

Does anyone actually like movies anymore?

I’m more positive on some of the non-art uses for AI than a lot of my peers, but forcing LLM’s into every website and search engine has already been beyond obnoxious, and now they’re adding it to the program whose sole purpose is being as simple and low-tech as possible 🙃

You know a Metroidvania is good when you start cackling maniacally within 5 seconds of getting a new movement upgrade. #Silksong

Can't imagine the weird combo of stress and freedom Team Cherry must be feeling as their singleplayer indie game is somehow pulling a full-on Diablo 3 launch, but only because the mega-corporations running all the storefronts can't handle the amount of traffic Silksong is bringing in.

Rolled credits on Donkey Kong Bananza, definitely gonna be singing its praises for a long time.

(Also shoutout to Backloggd for somehow managing to make a gamer Letterboxd that's less toxic than Letterboxd.)

This is the best 3D platformer featuring a blue rolling mammal I’ve ever played. #DonkeyKongBananza

The entire existence of The Game Awards has all been leading up to the moment the live band gets to drop Expedition 33’s final boss theme during their annual medley.

I seem to have a habit of only getting around to playing certain big games just before their sequel comes out, and I always feel a little guilty when I wind up loving it and then don’t have to wait at all to see what took the devs 5+ years to cook.

Anyways, Death Stranding kicks ass.

My super hot take is that I’m much more interested in seeing Greta Gerwig going full tilt “God is a woman” for her feminist Narnia movie instead of a safe blockbuster version that’s slightly nicer to Susan.

Man, I could totally see there being some unannounced caveat that makes this annoying, but this seems based as hell? All of my Switch games are digital, so I love the idea of being able to let my family and friends borrow from my collection.
Virtual Game Card announced from Nintendo

-Purchase a digital game and load it as a "digital game card"
-able to load a "digital game card" on a 2nd system. Can load up to 2 systems
-can lend out games to Switch Family Group members via local wireless
-added via system update in April

ME: Nice base building mechanic, but I'd rather go be a ninja.

ASSASSIN'S CREED: That's okay, you don't even need to build past the tutorial, you could honestly just make every tile spawn cats if you-

ME: Say that again, Mr. GOTY?

Right wing grifters love to complain that the speedrunning scene is too gay these days, but then will blast through a 100+ hour RPG as fast as humanly possible to find out exactly how many genders you can have sex with.

Hey!

You!

Got a videogame that you love more than anyone else? My podcast Your Fave Game has started recording a new season of episodes, and I’m looking for content creators, game devs and entertainment industry folk to interview!

What’s a game you could easily rant about for an hour?

HOT TAKE: The next company that tries a Smash clone needs to just 1:1 copy Nintendo’s movement and knock back.

Rivals of Aether 2 is the only one I’ve played in the genre that doesn’t immediately feel like an obvious downgrade.
