Not to brag, but I named Jonathan Bailey Sexiest Man Alive when I saw him in Broadchurch a decade ago.

A lot of this country’s problems boil down to straight white men who see themselves as some sort of default “normal” but any variation on that as “an identity” that is “political”

Can confirm this is true.
Authoritarians want you to feel isolated and alone, to feel like their vision of the world is the only one.

That’s why taking part in public protests matters. You connect with other people like you and you show those numbers off to the world. It’s a great feeling. Try it!

Went to Lake Oswego Pride. The 6 year old was not into wearing matching shirts with us, so Ryan and I were just husband twins in matching elementary school t shirts. Happy Pride. 👯🌈

Remember when we were worried about the possibility of Sarah Palin being a heartbeat away from the presidency? That seems quaint now.

Says he’s heard from constituents worried about the tariffs, esp farmers & restaurant/lodging sectors.

Just read the full Atlantic article about the Houthi group chat. One part that stuck with me is when they say “God Bless” and send prayer emojis to each other after killing 53 people who they considered enemies because they killed others in the name of their God.

literally every day is going to provide more evidence that the "let's provide some votes for the least bad trump nominees out of respect for the presidency" was a boneheaded strategy. any idiot could have told senate democrats that any vote for any of these people was going to make them look bad.

When I landed in SLC, I used the bathroom despite an anti-trans bathroom ban.

Nobody cared. Nobody ever does.

The truth is, whatever anti-trans laws they keep passing, nobody actually gives a damn or wants to be the bathroom police.

This is the ultimate reason anti-trans hysteria will fail.

Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

People who are confident, grounded and self assured don’t act like the people do who are part of the incoming administration. We allow this faux masculine energy cosplaying as power and strength to win if we give in and believe their lies about who they are.
For all their blustering showmanship, the right is scared they might lose again. They want their opponents to believe that resistance is futile. They want to break the rules in order to break the spirit of the opposition, not just on foreign battlefields, but here at home.

“It’s like Earth has been conquered by aliens but we grew them here.” Brilliant.
This stuff is not complicated, the distance this kind of money creates between you and the stakes of being a human, the incredible drugs and subsequent medical care you gain access to, the legions of people who cannot tell you No — It’s like Earth has been conquered by aliens but we grew them here.
