Baloney. Just look at what happened when Massachusetts raised taxes on the rich.

That’s more money than the vast majority of Americans will ever see — much less donate.

The top five egg producers own roughly half of all U.S. laying hens.

The biggest of those corporations is Cal-Maine, which just announced quarterly profits of $509 million — more than 3x what it made a year ago.

Murphy: "It's not designed as economic policy. It's designed as political policy. Because Trump gets really excited when people have to come to him, petition the king for relief. That's what he's doing with law firms, doing with universities. That may be what he's doing with businesses."

America has never been subject to this level of authoritarianism, and quite frankly, sheer incompetence.

Out of the ashes, this moment should radicalize us to embark on an era of new reform — of our economy, our democracy, and our commitment to social justice and the law.

Allow me to address the elephant in the room:

The Trump administration is not setting the course for a four-year term.

The Trump administration is setting the course for an everlasting dictatorship.

Are we all clear on this?

Exactly this.
Trump doesn't want to be President; he wants its trappings: Wealth, grift, adoration, non-restraint, legitimization, grandiosity. Analysis of what he'll say or do is not properly contextualized. He'll golf, shmooze and bloviate. Others will endanger us. He is the emissary, the carrier, the parasite.

President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100. He was a symbol of what is best about America: kindness, compassion, duty and service. He will be missed, most of all by those who long for a return of that kind of country, led by a man with such strength of character.
