The whole world is completely screwed and full of terrible people doing terrible things - but still nothing this year has made me as angry as the ending of Bugonia.

It was downhill from there...
Jumbo Spencer, a five-part children's drama based on the book by Helen (Lizzie Dripping) Cresswell, began #OTD 50 years ago. Among the young stars was John O'Farrell. @radiotimes.bsky.social

As part of the release of WhatsApp messages regarding Mandelson, I feel duty bound to share this exchange between my daughter and myself from back in September. Not quite sure how the request about a movie recommendation will be treated by the enquiry.

For the final performance of Just For One Day, they put real whisky in Maggie's Thatcher's glass and it was very funny seeing Julie Atherton react and still drink two inches of whisky on stage.

Well today it really is 'Just For One Day'.

Ta-ta for now, Live Aid Musical, it's been a great run, from the Old Vic to the West End, via Toronto - what a pleasure and a privilege.

Just found out that Sir Paul McCartney came to see our Live Aid Musical last night and thought it was fantastic.

Two of his songs in the show, including the final number and I guess, message of the whole musical - so his lovely message to us means a hell of a lot.

We have some old American friends staying with us and it is weirdly reassuring to see their take on how the Epstein stuff is impacting the UK.

'They spent the child benefit in the pub' was a 1970s cliche about the very worst sort of parents. Now it's Farage's policy.
NEW: Reform UK says it would re-impose the two-child benefit cap - scrapped by Labour - for most families to fund £3bn support package for pubs.

I took number two daughter to its first preview, where we bumped into @johnofarrell.bsky.social in the interval, & she's not stopped raving about it ever since, so she'll explode with joy at £20 standing tickets I just got for its closing night. Thank you for such a joyful & incredibly funny show.

Can't think of any.
While Reform's candidate Matthew Goodwin is much better known in academia, media & think-tanks than to the publicl, he is unusually high profile for a by-election candidate. I wonder which if any party by-election candidates (say this century) were better known without having previously been an MP?

If only there had been some sort of clue that Mandelson was dodgy.

I must say I feel so much better about Amazon sucking all the money out of publishing and denying authors any viable income, now that I know that all those millions were used to pay Melania for her pisspoor propaganda film.

I think Andrew should do another interview with Emily Maitlis to draw a line under all this.

Darth Vader has defected to Reform. He joins Vlad the Impaler, Idi Amin and Cruella de Vil as the latest heavyweights to bolster Farage's team.

I think I understand #BlueMonday now. Apparently it's when everyone is a little bit depressed, because it's cold and dark and the glow of Christmas has faded and it's the start of World War Three.
