6 fighter jets have flown from Macdill AFB, over Sarasota in the last 30 minutes.

Something is happening off the coast of Miami I believe.

More extrajudicial killings I would think.

He's following Orban's playbook, by attempting to rig elections and silence any critical voices.

Although to be fair, that might also be called Putin's playbook.
Trump: "I've had a very good record of endorsing candidates, but now I endorse foreign leaders, including Viktor Orban. He has my complete and total endorsement."

(Orban is a dictator.)

The media is currently giving limited coverage to the Roundup weed killer class-action settlement.

Bayer is on the hook for that, since it acquired Montsanto in 2014.

Why hasn't the American Media covered the Vietnamese victims of Montsanto's Agent Orange (Roundup) during the war?

The harm left in the wake of Agent Orange still impacts Vietnam's environment and its people. We follow filmmaker Masako Sakata who has spent two decades documenting the victims of this toxic legacy.

Any FL native that follows the news like I do, has mixed feelings about Jolly.

He is primarily a pro-business, Reagan Republican.

He voted against offshore oil drilling and the ACA.

But he had enough ethics to change parties, when it became clear that Trump owned the GOP.

Seriously mixed.

If expecting a POTUS candidate to be against funding the DHS counts as a purity test, then I reckon the 2028 Democrat primary field had better be like driven snow.

Because right now, the "status quo" is looking more and more like the Gestapo.

I don't care who's running a police state, TBH.

Watching celebs get canceled for posts that were made 15 years ago, really makes the thoughtful individual realize why politicians have to be such facile liars.

They can never express a real emotion or any kind of thought that might be the slightest bit edgy.

They can't be human.

I've never celebrated President's Day or known anyone that has.

I've never gotten the day off work or known anyone that has.

So the performative "I'll celebrate when we have a president..." posts mean even less than most of the political theater on this service.

In Florida, a recently unemployed lady just told me that the state requires her to "volunteer" 80 hours a month to receive $80 of EBT.

In most blue states, she would get close to $300 a month as the head of a one-person household.

Now you know why MAGA wants to dictate EBT benefits from DC.

I'd love to boycott Amazon. Unfortunately, I can't afford to.

When many grocery staples -such as shortening - cost over twice as much in brick & mortar stores...

boycotting becomes a privilege those below the poverty line cannot afford.

Staying positive may not influence external outcomes that much.

However, staying persistently negative absolutely will influence your mental and physical health in a deleterious way.

It also makes people avoid you. Even those that care.

Gavin Gruesome pivoting to the right before the primaries?

Weird flex, but okay.

Good luck getting MAGA's vote!
Gavin Newsom: "I'm in the old Ronald Reagan mansion here in Sacramento. The spirit of Reagan is very alive in the walls surrounding me. Now we have an invasive species, Donald Trump, in relation to that. The populism of Trump is reflected in Bernie and AOC and our politics on the left."

The vast majority of Republican politicians would rather be officeholders in a dictatorship than citizens in a democracy. They have chosen to be traitors.

Anyone who believed MAGA valued free speech was mistaken.

Anyone who trusted Big Tech was a fool.

Marx said it over 160 years ago: capitalism is fascism.

The assault on Constitutional norms continues apace.

They don't just execute pedophiles in Somalia, they also execute gay men and marry girls off at puberty.

I don't believe Rep. Ilhan Omar wants the US to be more like Somalia.

I hope she would want the opposite, so that more girls can have the opportunities she's had.

That said, epic troll.

American far-right pundits have begun praising Singapore lately.

Which of the aspects that have made it one of the highest GDP nations on Earth do they want to emulate here?

The public health program that works like Obamacare on steroids?

The world-class transit system?

Then I see someone peel an orange and eat it like an apple.

Note to self: people are under no obligation to make not judging them easier.

Sanae Takaichi is Japan's first female PM.

How does that happen in a country so patriarchal, that there are almost zero female CEO's?

For starters, she's ethnically Japanese. (like 98.5% of the population)

But mostly, she's the leader the country was looking for.

Kamala wasn't & won't be.

And if there are no such candidates, you withhold your vote.

Because you are absolutely responsible for what you vote for.

And I'll no longer vote for the genocidal Military Industrial Complex.
I see this is need to here's the basics of voting in a democratic society:
1. You vote for a person or party that represents your beliefs and interests.
2. You do not vote for a person or party that does not represent your beliefs and interests.

That's it. No need to apologize for the second.

By moving to the “center,” Democrats have failed to fight the forces that led us to Trump: widening inequality and the unchecked power of billionaires.

There's no "center" anymore between a takeover of the government by oligarchs and true freedom.

Dems need to learn this.

It's interesting that the mainstream media stopped talking about Platner after he refused to drop out.

But this is the race to watch in the midterms.

He's looking strong in the primary.

And if he beats Collins in the runoff...

I just hope he means just half of what he says.
Every politician says "more housing." It's not enough to say "more housing." We should demand a serious housing agenda.

Build millions of public units. Pass a nationwide tenant bill of rights. Ban hedge funds owning homes.

I vote in every election.

Sometimes I just vote "no".

For instance, when both candidates enthusiastically endorse genocide, that's a no.

And I'll never apologize for refusing to endorse the murder of civilians.

Not even if the United States of America burns to the ground.

The scariest thing about MAGA was never Trump or even JD Vance.

The scariest thing are the people who have been orchestrating the Project 2025 fascist overthrow of America.

Because they can read and clearly, HAVE studied different fascist regimes.

I'm reminded more of Franco than Hitler.

In Japanese politics, when a party has a bad showing at the polls, the leadership apologizes to their supporters and often even resigns.

In American politics, when political leaders fail miserably, they blame the voters for being stupid.

One system rewards failure, one demands excellence.

And nobody can guarantee that, including the admins at Discord.

Do not trust them to delete the docs.

Do not trust corporations EVER.
