A resident of Wales.
Ex-Midlander.
Music and a bit of footy, with a dash of wildlife and nature, will suit me just fine.
#5debutalbums1014

I’ve started with 31 albums this time round. Lots of great stuff, many that I can’t recall having heard before (Dead Sea Apes, Amazing Snakeheads, Wrangler, Bo Ningen etc).
I’ve definitely missed a few, as well.

Thanks for your recommendations, all, much appreciated. 👍😎👏

Allah Las self titled, they’re kind of a psychedelic pop that plays with some 60s riffs, a good listen. #5debutalbums1014

The Joy Formidable - The Big Roar

Busting out a big gun for this cold and rainy afternoon, “big” is an understatement for the full length debut from one of my favorite modern bands; excited for their tour next spring, haven’t seen them in 7 years.

This new LP from SoSU is out nearly two months but has not yet been aired on the LSwMB.
Administrative error, I think.
The marvellous "Flash The Ash" is now sounding swell on the radio.

Happy Halloween! The rather scary looking Roos Carr figures with their quartzite eyes. Dating to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age, the figures are part of the collections at the Hull and East Riding Museum of Archaeology. 📸 My own. #Halloween #Prehistory #Yorkshire

'The Fall in the 1970s and 80s were never particularly concerned with what was yet to come, but The Unutterable presents an electronic, forward-looking iteration of the group that is ominous and menacing as they had ever sounded.'

Seasonal reminder, Pumpkins make Hedgehogs sick, so don't leave any out where they can reach them.

Headache! One of my favorite songs of 2012 and opening track for Metz's furious noise debut album. A fantastic live band, too. Contender.

Dead Sea Apes - Lupus

A wonderful dark, moody, oppressive, instrumental psych/space rock album. Be patient with it and let it pull you in. I love it.

Number 6
Took a chance on this years ago because I wanted to get into a band that nobody else had heard of and they seemed a good bet. They were. First 3 albums are brilliant and I still listen to them. Hard to leave this one out.

16. The Fall - How I Wrote 'Elastic Man'

If I ever have to explain The Fall to anyone, this is generally the song I reach for. Even the world's grouchiest man seems like he's having fun on this ramshackle bop.

15. Kraftwerk - Computer Love

Prophetic in how it foresaw online dating. Kraftwerk already sensed (in 1981!) that computers wouldn’t just change how we work but also how we feel and connect.
