The weird but about this particular story, is that it makes the 'I just paid him for tax advice' claims of some investor types seem a tad less outrageous. I mean, still immoral if not illegal, but i guess feasible that's what it was for.
Peter Mandelson leaked a sensitive UK government document to Jeffrey Epstein while he was business secretary that proposed £20bn of asset sales and revealed Labour’s tax policy plans. ft.trib.al/dT7pS1s

My employer uses a learning portal, and since it seems I will be using AI in the near future. I thought I'd see if they have any courses. Amusingly, the learning portal also has AI built into the search, which makes it nigh on impossible to access the courses.

A rare phenomenon I do enjoy. A vote with like 30 voters is somehow a shock result.
Eurozone finance ministers today picked Croatia’s central bank governor, Boris Vujčić, as the European Central Bank’s next vice president — defying all expectations and the European Parliament’s calls for someone else.

Surprise choice of Boris Vujčić throws next year’s race for the European Central Bank’s top job wide open.

Long-standing micro annoyance of mixing 'sparked' and 'fuelled' in fire analogies. I blame Lenin.

'won a rape trial' FFS
Paul Haggis, the Oscar-winning filmmaker, agreed to pay nearly $2 million to settle a civil suit from a former film-industry publicist who in 2022 won a rape trial against him.

My favourite part was the security having to stop someone rushing onto the pitch before the final whistle, and that person was the club's owner.
Non-league Macclesfield FC pull off the biggest shock in FA Cup history, knocking out Premier League opposition and holders Crystal Palace.

117 league places between them.

What a performance, what a result 👏

Tourist guide books should start with a chapter on those weird stores that are everywhere, but sell a random mix of things/not quite what you'd expect. Boots/WHSmith in the UK. Müller in Germany, CVS in the US, etc.
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

I like the name. Because the obvious thing that distinguishes it from other tree hopping animals is that it's in Brazil. And the only thing that distinguishes it from all other Brazilian animals is hopping in trees.
Brazilian treehopper, is a small, bizarre-looking insect known for the cluster of hollow, ball-like appendages on its head, which are extensions of its pronotum. These growths likely confuse predators, making the insect appear larger or harder to eat.

CONFIRMED: Eileen Higgins, a Democrat, will be the new mayor of Miami.

She'll be the city's first Democratic mayor since the 1990s. She flipped the office from Republicans, and does so easily. She leads the DeSantis-endorsed Emilio González 59/41 right now with most ballots counted.
